KCKicking College-Prep Showcase

CPS2016 logo square

KCKicking’s annual College-Prep Showcase gives kickers and punters the opportunity to display their abilities in a highly competitive environment and obtain film to include in their College recruiting highlight reel. This showcase features the best kicking and punting talent in the Nation with over 200 athletes attending from all over the Country.

Top-place finishers receive individual awards and all attendees:

  • receive a rating based on their current skill level and will be ranked against other kickers/punters in their high school graduation class
  • will have their Showcase charting results and film sent to over 750 colleges in the D-1, D-1AA, D-2, D-3, NAIA and JUCO divisions, and will be posted to their personalized profile page on KCKicking.com
  • have option to go through our DARI Kick Swing Analysis and receive a customized report ($49 additional fee)
  • receive a “swag bag” containing a KCK branded football bag, an event shirt and sponsor goodies.

Athletes looking to fine tune their skills have the option of attending an instructional prep-camp held on the first day of the showcase events for an additional fee. During this event, each athlete will receive one hour of small-group instruction from current or past professional and collegiate football kickers and punters.

Field-Goal Charting

  • Every kicker will be charted and filmed on 8 field-goals ranging from 30-50 yards.
  • 2 kickers will be kicking simultaneously on opposite hashes and will be kicking using Wizard EZ Hold sticks.
  • Underclassmen (FR, SO, JR) are encouraged to kick from the ground, but, are allowed to use a block.
  • Seniors are NOT ALLOWED to use a block.
  • Field-goals are scored according to the following points system:

Left Hash

30 yarder = 1 pt
35 yarder = 1 pt
40 yarder = 1 pt
45 yarder = 1 pt

Right Hash

35 yarder = 1 pt
40 yarder = 1 pt
45 yarder = 1 pt
50 yarder = 2 pts

Formula for Scoring

10 pts possible w/ bonus

  • A 1 point bonus will be rewarded for any kicker who makes all field-goals from within 40 yards (5/5).
  • The top 10 kickers with the highest point total will advance to our Last Man Standing Competition.
  • In the event of a tie for the Last Man Standing spots, we will look at each of the kicker's longest kicks made. Whoever has made the most longest kicks (starting with the longest and working up to the shortest, ex: 50, 45R, 45L,40R, 40L) will earn the spots.

Kickoff Charting

  • Kickoffs will be from the 35 yard line.
  • Every kicker will get 4 kickoffs.
  • The hang-time and distance will be charted.
  • There will be no mulligans. Each kickoff will go into the final average for distance and hang-time.

Formula for Scoring

Avg. Distance + (Avg. Hang x 11) = Final KO Score

Punt Charting

  • Every punter or combo kicker/punter will punt 8 balls with a live snap during the 1st charting session.
  • There will be no mulligans. All 8 punts will be averaged for hang-time and distance.
  • We will not be charting for direction (left or right).
  • The top 10 punters with the highest score from the 1st charting session will advance to a Last Man Standing Competition.

Formula for Scoring

Avg. Distance + (Avg. Hang x 11) = Final Punt Score
