Prospect Rankings

KCKicking’s evaluation of a prospect is reflected in two ways: rankings and ratings. Previously, the only way to improve your ranking and rating with KCKicking was to attend a College-Prep Showcase; however, due to increased demand, we now provide additional opportunities to increase individual standings. Rankings and ratings are both updated three times per year, after the College-Prep Showcase and Elite Performance Camps (January, June and August).

KCKicking uses this star rating scale to assess a prospect's current level of play.

 Trey Harris
6'0"
195
Trey performed very well at our 2016 and 2017 College-Prep Showcases. He won the 2017 punting competition and got 6th in kickoffs. From watching him the last two years, he is a competitor and finds a way to make kicks. He hasn't transitioned entirely to the ground yet, but still has the ability to find a way to be productive. A couple of tweaks in his technique and he will be hitting balls off the ground with ease. He has improved the hang and distance on his kickoffs from a year ago. Trey has made a name for himself and should find opportunities as both a kicker and punter at the next level!

 Jesse Bridge

Jesse competed in both our 2016 and 2017 CPS events. He has been kicking from the ground for over two years and shows that he is very well trained and has excellent fundamentals. He can be a great ball striker and has excellent control on his kicks. He is a 4.5 star kicker and would be a 5 star kicker with just a bit more production on kickoffs. Jesse will be productive as BOTH a kicker and punter at the next level. He is able to turn the ball over and gets the ball down field well. He is one of our best combo prospects in his class!

 Robert Faulkner

Robert put together the best punt charting session during the preliminary round at the 2017 CPS. He is a true punter and demonstrated the ability to hit a consistent ball, with most of them spiraling and turning over. His fundamentals help him be productive. At the next level, he will need to speed up his get off time to ensure punts are not blocked. Good punters are hard to find and we believe Robert will be very productive at the next level!

Thomas put on an outstanding performance at our 2016 College-Prep Showcase. He made the field goal finals as well as the punt finals (out of 90 participants). He hits his field goals from the ground and shows excellent ball-striking ability. The ball explodes off his foot. He went a combined 13-16 on field goals over two rounds showing he is a very accurate kicker. We are very impressed with Thomas and are certain a College football future awaits him. Both is kicking and punting ability are College level. To be rated higher, he will need to improve his production on kickoffs. Thomas has a bright future!

 Taiten Winkel

Taiten is an excellent combo specialist. He was the highest placing punter in his class in the punt competition at the 2016 College-Prep Showcase. He shows good mechanics and a repeatable swing. His best ball was a 4.48 hang, 49 yard punt. This is a huge punt! Taiten is also an excellent field goal kicker capable of making a lot of kicks. He recently transitioned to hitting field goals from the ground (Summer 2017). He has a fluid swing and makes kicking look easy. His ball-striking is great. With hard work and improvement in his kickoff production, Taiten will battle for top kicking and punting honors his Senior year!

 Parker Lacina

Parker is an extremely strong kicker. On field goals and kickoffs, he has one of the top 3 strongest legs in his class. His trajectory is great and he can also drive the ball on longer kicks. Parker is an elite level kicker. Parker performed very well at our 2016 College-Prep, finishing in 5th in both the field goal and kickoff competitions (out of 90 kickers). To stay at the top of his class and become a 5 star kicker, we will need him to be comfortable and effective kicking field goals from the ground. Look for Parker to battle for the #1 ranking in his class at both kicking and punting!

Ryan competed in the punt and kickoff portion of our 2016 College-Prep Showcase. He narrowly missed the punt finals by 1 spot. He shows good strength and repeatable mechanics. We would like to see him shorten his steps and increase his tempo so he can be a little more explosive through the ball. Ryan is strong and athletic. With hard work this upcoming Spring and Summer he should be able to compete amongst the best punters in his class for his senior season!

Ryan is a talented kicker who shows a routine, consistent approach/swing/follow through and has repeatable mechanics. He competed at our 2016 College-Prep Showcase. His ball flight is excellent, and if he misses they are narrow misses. Ryan could get more power if he widened his approach and used more quad during the kick swing phase of his routine. His kickoffs punts are productive, but as Ryan matures and builds his strength he will see more improvement in this area. Ryan is considered one of the best kickers in his class and should have a promising future!

Kicking and punting comes very natural to Bathie. He is an excellent ball striker and have very repeatable, fluid kicking motions. He demonstrated great field goal range at our 2017 CPS by hitting a 50 yard field goal. He finished 3rd in the punting finals. He is a dual threat specialist. We believe his best kicking days are still ahead of him! Take a look at this prospect!

Jonathan is a true punter who competed at our 2017 CPS. He shows good fundamentals and an explosive leg swing. His technique helps him get decent distance on each of his kicks. We'd like to see him increase his lean during his approach steps to generate more power into his kicks. Jonathan can immediately be serviceable as a punter at the next level!

 Jacob Rhea
6'0"
220
Jacob is a true punter that can be a kicker in a back-up role. He is a very strong legged punter and gets the ball in the air well. As he turns more balls over, he will continue to be more and more productive. He showed his big leg at our 2017 CPS and made it to our finals round. His best ball went 56 yards. Some fine tuning of his mechanics is needed to maximize his potential. At this time, his steps are a little too long and he will need to have his approach take him more down field to have a leg swing which produces more nose over balls. Promising athlete.

 Alexander Ferruzca

Alexander came in from Washington to participate in our 2017 CPS. He is mostly a punter but also competed in the field goal and kickoff charting sessions. He showed a fluid leg swing on his punts. For additional production in all three phases of the kicking game, we would like to see Alexander accelerate through the ball. He tends to slow down once he makes ball contact. He hit a few balls above 4 seconds on punting. Additional foot speed will help him become more productive in all three phases of the kicking game.

 Colby Schweizer

Colby competed in the punting event at the CPS 2017. He has a fluid swing and repeatable mechanics. We would like to see him hold the back end of the ball on his drop so he has more control and can release at a lower point to the ground. This will help him drive the ball better to get his balls to the next echelon of height and distance. Athletic improvement will directly translate into further production as well.

Logan is the brother of former KCK athlete (Lane Clark - full scholarship kicker at Tennessee State) and shows a lot of the same attributes as his brother. Logan has great mechanics and demonstrates an ability to execute his technique with a high degree of repeatability. His field goals fly straight and with decent ball rotation. He has field goal range up to 50 yards. He made the field goal finals at the 2017 CPS and finished in 6th. Athletic development and increase foot speed will help him earn a starting position and crank up his production on kickoffs. Logan can absolutely play at the next level.

Moises might have the biggest leg in his class. He smashes kickoffs. He came in second in the kickoff competition out of 90 kickers at our 2016 College-Prep Showcase. He is a little raw of field goals. We would like to see him increase his lean-off at ball strike. This should help him hone in on his target more consistently. Moises should develop a true three step approach to shorten his block spot on punts. With the leg strength Moises has, he will be competing among the best in his class for years to come. Very talented prospect with a very bright future!

Nathan has the frame to excel at punting. He demonstrates good hands and uses his size to create a lot of power in his strikes. He could sharpen up his mechanics to maximize his production and make some adjustments to his posture through the swing phase. He performed well during this portion of the 2016 College-Prep Showcase. Nathan also kicks but we were unable to do a full evaluation (injury).

Edwin competed at both our 2016 and 2017 CPS. He made a lot of improvement in the past year. His field goals are one of the top in his class. He hits an extremely clean ball off the ground. His ball flies true and straight. He went a perfect 8 for 8 during our field goal preliminary round. He went 7 for 8 in the finals and finished in 2nd. He proved he can handle the pressure of tough kicks. He would be a 5 star kicker if his kickoffs were as good as his field goals. Additional production is needed in this area to be able to hit kickoffs at the next level. Edwin can come in and immediately compete for a starting field goal position at the next level!

Ethan shows that he is capable of hitting a quality ball on field goals and is an effective high school kicker. He has good rhythm on his kickoff approach. He has gotten stronger over the two events we have evaluated Ethan. At times, Ethan can turn his punts over and be very productive. His drop will improve once he practices releasing the ball with one hand. He shows good hands on catching the snap. Look for Ethan to climb the rankings as he continues to develop as a kicking specialist!

His best ball was a 3.91s, 63 yd ball. He is a very consistent field goal kicker and handles pressure situations well. He has been kicking field goals from the ground for at least two years. We have seen Dalton go a perfect 8 for 8 during a field goal session at one of our charting events. We have worked closely with Dalton for three years and have seen him blossom as a kicking specialist. He is a very consistent kicker and shows a live leg. His kickoffs have come a long way. Continued athletic development will help Dalton improve his hang and distance on his kickoffs and bring his rating above a four star kicker. He is serviceable as a punter. He tends to over stride in his approach but his drop and swing mechanics are decent.. Some adjustments to his technique are necessary to maximize his production and consistency. Dalton has a bright future and we are excited to see him excel his Senior season.

Noah is a highly trained kicker and punter. His mechanics are repeatable and solid. He currently uses a 1 inch block on field goals. His approach and follow through are consistent, however his ball rotation can be inconsistent at times. With maturity and gains in the weight room, he will see improvement on the production of his kickoffs and increase his range on field goals. Noah gets a lot of power with his punt approach and swing. His mold and drop are consistent. His body type is ideal for punting and could develop over the next couple of years to become an elite level punter.

Koby is a skilled kicker and punter. At times, he shows clean ball strikes on field goals, but he is inconsistent at hitting his target lines. He has a strong leg and is explosive in his swinging motion. At the 2015 College-Prep Showcase he was the top placing class of 2018 kicker in the kickoff competition. He placed 2nd in his class in the punt competition. We'd like to see him utilize his arms for balance more effectively during field goals as well as speed up his approach. Koby has a ton of potential and is close to putting it all together and seeing significant on-field production!

Aaron is an effective field goal kicker and has shown he can compete at a high level. His most recent chart with us, the 2017 CPS, he made the FG finals by making 7 out of 8 kicks and then ended up in 6th. He has really improved the quality of his strikes as he has matured as a kicker. His field goals skills are above his kickoff skills at this time. He has shown he can hit a decent kickoff, but he is still working on his consistency to produce long and high kicks rep after rep. He serves as a reliable backup punter but would need to improve his technique to become more productive at this skill. Aaron can hang with some of the best kickers in his class and will be very serviceable at the next level!

Blayten is a multi-sport athlete and demonstrates good coordination and athletic ability. His kicking mechanics are fluid and natural. He currently uses a 1-inch block. He is working on his foot position at ball strike to be able to kick adequately from the ground. His kickoffs would improve by adding some more speed in his approach. He shows a live leg in punts, but he will need to refine his technique to become more consistent in this area. We expect Blayten to continue to mature as a kicking specialist and are excited to see how he does for his Senior season.

Davin has an impressive leg. He is able to get great height on FGs and quality distance on KOs. As Davin starts to move down in field goal block size, he'll need to adjust his lean-off during the planting portion of the kick. Davin is very skilled for his age. He's currently stronger as a kicker compared to as a punter, but he shows the ability to turn some balls over and achieve good ball contact. To improve his punting consistency, he'll need to adjust his approach so it is more linear and down field. With formal instruction, Davin could greatly improve as an all around specialist. Look for him to excel at the high school level and potentially develop into a College prospect.

Chandler has solid kicking mechanics and has a repeatable swing. His ball flies true to his target. When he has a miss-hit, they are manageable and narrowly miss his target. We would like to see him stay firmer in his core when hitting kickoffs so he can drive his leg through the ball more aggressively and without restriction. We want his hurdle to take him down field. His punt routine is fluid. Over the next season we want him to develop a three step maximum approach so his block spot is closer to 3-4 yards from where he starts his approach. Chandler is a great high school kicker who is dependable and is a pleasure to work with.

Zachary is one of the better kickoff specialists in his class. He showed well at the 2016 College-Prep Showcase, finishing in kickoffs around the top of his class. He shows a lively leg on field goals. He would benefit from increasing his lean off at ball strike so his ball will fly true to his target line. It will also help him come to balance in his follow through. His punting skills are raw and could benefit from formal instruction. With his big leg, he will be able to be productive as soon as his technique is refined. Zachary is a pleasure to work with.

Phillip competed at our 2016 College-Prep Showcase. He has long legs and at times can put a good foot behind the ball. His mechanics are a little raw and would benefit from additional flexibility. On his shorter kicks, he should kick with more confidence and drive the ball beyond the target. To become more consistent on his kickoffs, he will need to develop a routine and measure out his steps. He opens up his hips too soon as he comes in to approach the ball. Keep his hips moving towards the ball and then he can drive the ball down the middle of the field. He can get ahold of some good punts but he has a tendency to drop the ball with the nose down. We want the ball to be flat upon molding and dropping. He has a lot of raw ability and could translate well into additional production. Promising prospect with a lot of upside potential.
