Prospect Rankings

KCKicking’s evaluation of a prospect is reflected in two ways: rankings and ratings. Previously, the only way to improve your ranking and rating with KCKicking was to attend a College-Prep Showcase; however, due to increased demand, we now provide additional opportunities to increase individual standings. Rankings and ratings are both updated three times per year, after the College-Prep Showcase and Elite Performance Camps (January, June and August).

KCKicking uses this star rating scale to assess a prospect's current level of play.

 Josh Muckenthaler
6'0"

Josh is a current College punter. He is a two-step punter who gets the ball off quickly. His leg strength is superior, but he needs to work on his drop to ensure he turns more balls over. Also, Josh can improve his flexibility, which would help him accelerate through the ball. Overall, Josh is a solid College punter with the ability to help flip the field for his team.

 Sam Kuhter
6'1"
185
Sam has shown us over the past year that he has one of the biggest legs that we've ever worked with. He is an outstanding athlete, shows good use of his hands, and has great flexibility and power. He has the ability to get into a groove and start turning over balls left and right. Sam's follow-thru comes across his body just a bit, which causes some room for inconsistencies. With some continued work on his mechanics, Sam's value will go even higher than he already is. Consider this prospect to fulfill your punting vacancy! Only has room to improve and the sky is the limit!

Brock placed 4th overall in our field of 43 punters at the Dec. 2012 Showcase. He generates a ton of momentum thru his approach and this translates into exceptional leg speed. He maximizes his hang-times by constantly driving the ball upwards. He demonstrates good use of his hands and proper footwork. Brock is a true punter and will excel at the next level. He should generate quite a bit of interest from College football teams. He's a transparent and solid prospect.

 Scott Agee
6'3"
210
Scott is a well built athlete and uses his length to his advantage. Over the past few years, he has shown us the ability to hit kickoffs better than anybody in the previous 3 recruiting classes. He could start for any Division 1 football program as a freshman KO specialist. Scott will continue to develop his ball striking skills to become a more refined field goal kicker. Because of Scott's leg strength, he could also be a very effective roll-out punter. To this date, traditional style punting hasn't been effective. Well-rounded prospect, huge upside!

 Chris Brettell
6'1"
180
Chris is built well and has a good frame for kicking. His leg swing is very smooth. When he gets in a rthym, he proves to be a very effective placekicker. To improve, he'll need to improve the consistentcy of his ball striking. His kickoff ability is not as good as his field goal ability. He'd need to improve his steps and ball-striking to be a more effective kickoff specialist. Chris has a very fluid punt mechanics. He's proven he has the proper fundamentals and technique required to be a great punter.

 Christian Torres
5'9"
170
Christian finished 5th overall in our field of 43 punters at our Dec. 2012 Showcase. He has demonstrated that he is an explosive athlete and can get the ball down-field. He is not a traditional style punter. He rolls out to the left (he's a lefty) and lands on his kicking foot during his follow-thru. He could be an excellent candidate for teams looking for a roll-out/rugby style punter. He gets good ball contact and has a fluid leg swing.

Joseph competed well at our Dec. 2012 Showcase, narrowly missing the finals. He gets solid ball contact and good rotation. He is a very consistent kicker. With a little improvement in his mechanics and flexibility, Joseph will be able to take his kicking up a notch. His FG ability is superior to his KO ability. He needs to drive the ball a little higher to improve his hang-times and distance on both KOs and punting. He showed flashes of his potential during his punting session, but some inconsistencies held him back a little. Very talented prospect.

Armado is athletic and shows that he has excellent leg speed. With a little bit of work on his technique and mechanics, Armando's punts will gain the necessary hang-time and distance that College football programs are looking for. His drop is too high and causes inconsistent ball contact. Armando has a great attitude and is committed to getting better.
