Prospect Rankings

KCKicking’s evaluation of a prospect is reflected in two ways: rankings and ratings. Previously, the only way to improve your ranking and rating with KCKicking was to attend a College-Prep Showcase; however, due to increased demand, we now provide additional opportunities to increase individual standings. Rankings and ratings are both updated three times per year, after the College-Prep Showcase and Elite Performance Camps (January, June and August).

KCKicking uses this star rating scale to assess a prospect's current level of play.

Tucker is the most gifted specialist we have seen at the high school level. He can crush FGs, KOs and Punts. He is the TOP prospect in his class for both field goals and punting. He has earned an automatic invite to the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl game as well as the Siemper Fi All-American Game. He is capable of hitting 65 yard FGs and 4.8+ second/50+ yard punts. At the 2015 College-Prep Showcase, Tucker was the only participant to go a perfect 8 for 8 in the FG charting session as well as 5 for 5 during the DARI swing analysis charting session. Tucker was offered a scholarship by Alabama, Mizzou and Florida State during the Spring of his Junior year. Tucker is committed to Mizzou and is enrolled for the Spring 2016 semester. Huge pick-up for the Tigers!

Todd is an extremely gifted combo specialist. He has an extremely efficient leg swing, is fluid, and very repeatable. We'd like to see him lengthen his approach just a bit as he has a tendency to get too deep on his plant foot. He is also a skilled punter. He is very consistent with his drop and leg swing, helping him to turn-over (spiral) a high percentage of his punts. We have worked with and seen Todd a handful of times over the past 3 years. He has proven to be a resiliant competitor and capable of getting the job done at both kicking and punting. Todd has a very bright future. Todd will earn a scholarship, land at a D1 program, and is capable of filling an immediate void at either kicking or punting positions!

James put on one of the best performances of the 2015 College-Prep Showcase. He finished third in both FGs and kickoffs (out of 105 participants). Although he is a tall for a kicker, he still hits one of the best balls amongst his class. He has excellent range on field goals and can hit the ball deep on kickoffs. He is a gifted athletic and also excels at other positions and sports. He will be an excellent addition to any division 1 football program. James is mature, has a good head on his shoulders and loves to compete! Game Ready!

JT is one of the best kickers in the class of 2016. He showed extremely well at the 2015 College-Prep Showcase. He went 7 for 8 in the preliminary field goal charting round. He has a consistent leg swing and he utilizes his long legs well. JT has made a lot of improvement in the last year. He's grown taller and added strength and has directly seen improvements on the field as a result of these gains. He has a tendency to hit too high on the football on kickoffs, but when his timing is right and ball-striking is pure, he can hit one of the best kickoffs in his class, reaching 4.0+ hang and 65 yards. He is also a legitamite combo prospect capable serving as a starting kicker and punter at the next level. He showed the ability to hit a 5.0 hang-time punt. He needs to be more consistent with his ball turnover, but its clear he will excel at this skill with more work and time. JT will land at a Division 1 program and is capable of pushing for a starting role in his first season!

Justin put on an impressive performance at the 2015 College-Prep Showcase. He went a perfect 8 for 8 during the FG preliminary round and finished 3rd out of 105 participants. He has a smooth leg swing and utilizes his length to his advantage. He gets excellent hip extension in his leg swing recoil allowing him drive the ball high and far after ball strike. He is one of the best competitors in his class. He put on one of the top punting performances at the showcase as well by finishing 5th in the event. His skills as a punter are not as great as his kicking, but he is a true dual threat prospect. He is capable of hitting 4.8+ hang-time and 45 yard punts. Justin is a D1 kicking and punting prospect and will be heavily looked at and scooped up quickly! Contact this prospect now!

AJ is one of the most refined and game ready kickers we've come across. He went a perfect 8 for 8 on field goals at the 2015 National Kicking Combine. He is a pure ball striker, has an extremely fluid swinging motion and gets excellent trajectory on his kicks. He has a strong build and utilizes his flexibility through his mechanics. He is an elite level athlete ready to perform his freshmen year in College. He qualified as 1 of 10 specialists who competed for a roster spot on the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl game through the Super Combine hosted at Dallas Cowboys Stadium. He's capable of hitting 3.9s/67yd KOs. Great pick up for the Blue Devils!

 Jack Dinneen

Jack is one of our best competitors. He put together an outstanding performance at the 2015 National Kicking Combine by winning both the field goal and kickoff charting competitions. He went a perfect 9-9 (long of 55 yards) in FGs and averaged 3.82/69 on KOs. This performance earned him 1 of 10 spots at the Blue-Grey Super Combine to compete for an All-American Bowl Game roster spot. Jack's kicking style is unique. He doesn't finish through the kick with a swing that finishes around his waist in a fluid swinging motion. He hits down on the ball and stops shortly after contact. This method has proven to be quite effective for him. If he converts to a higher finishing leg swing, it's possible he'll need to work on his hamstring flexibility. His ball-striking skills are phenomenal. Both his FGs and KOs look the same ball after ball. Jack can punt in a backup role. This prospect will prove to be a service-able option for many years. Brody put together a performance at our National Kicking Combine to make us believe he belongs with the top kickers in his class. He went an impressive 7-8 on FGs and was 2nd in KOs out of a field of 30 guys from all across the country. He hits 3.8+ second, 65+ yard KOs and has FG range from 50+. He also made the field goal finals round at our 2015 College-Prep Showcase (105 participants). He has an extremely fluid and natural style of kicking. He allows his body to work for himself and has improved his technique over the past year. He's made adjustments to his kickoffs and has become one of the best kickoff guys in his class, moving him from a 4.5 star kicker to a 5 star kicker. Brody should get D1 interest as he is capable of playing, and exceling, at this level.

Julius was our top all-around performer at the 2015 National Kicking Combine. He placed in the top 5 in all events (FGs, KOs and Punts). This effort earned him a selection to the Blue-Grey Super Combine to compete for a spot on the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl roster. His swinging style is extremely repeatable. He locks in on the target and can hit with accuracy. He is productive on KOs. He placed 5th on kickoffs at the 2015 College-Prep Showcase out of 105 kickers, as well as made the field goal finals by going 7 out of 8 during the preliminary round. Julius is a very skilled punter. He demonstrates clean mechanics, is very repeatable, has great hands and has a consistent drop. He can turn the ball over more than 50% of the time. He is truly a combo prospect who can compete at the highest level of College football immediately! Kendrick has been the one of the top in his class since Dec. 2011. His mechanics and fundamentals are solid. He won the FG competition at the Mizzou College camp (June 2014). Kendrick has been kicking off the ground for a season now and he hasn't lost any productivity. He has recently improved his KOs by adding ample hang and distance. A small adjustment in his FG follow-through will improve his ball flight consistency. Kendrick will land at a D1 program and will be a serviceable starter for years to come!

Bailey is a combo specialist. He performed extremely well at the 2015 College-Prep showcase. He tied for third in FGs out of a field of 100 kickers. He is reliable in all aspects of his game; FG, KO, and punt. He hits a clean ball on FGs. He would benefit from generating a little more rotation through his hips at ball-strike. He is capable of hitting a kickoff with 4.0 hang-time and a punt with 4.2+ hang-time. Bailey tends to over-stride in his punt approach. We'd like to see him shorten his first step. It is clear Bailey is a motivated athlete and will succeed at whichever school he lands at.

Tommy put on an excellent performance at both the 2015 National Kicking Combine and Blue-Grey Super Combine. He's earned an automatic spot on Blue-Grey Football's All-American Bowl Game roster. He qualified individually in both punting and kicking skills. Tommy has the ability to FGs all day long and make each ball look the same. He has great flexibility and extension through his swinging motion. Improvement on his KOs will get him to a 5 star rating. As a punter, Tommy has demonstrated the ability to put the ball above 4.0s hang consistently. We'd like to see him lower his mold early in his approach and leave it there throughout the approach. His ball-striking ability alone is what makes this prospect so promising. One of our best dual threat guys in the class of 2016. Polished combo specialist ready to perform at the D1 level!

Clayton has demonstrated he has skills comparable to some of the best kickers in his class. His A ball is as good as anyone's. He has FG range well beyond 50 yards. He does an excellent job at focusing on hang-time for his KOs. For FGs, he'll need to slightly adjust his body position at ball strike in order to improve the consistency of hitting quality ball strikes. He can produce as a punter. His fundamentals are not as well developed here, but we see opportunity in this area. We are eager to see him excel during his senior season campaign and make a run at the top spot in his class at the 2015 College-Prep Showcase.

Antonio competed at our 2015 National Kicking Combine and 2015 College-Prep Showcase, impressing us on both occasions. He has a very live leg, fluid swing motion and gets excellent extension. He will need to develop a quicker three step approach for field goals. He attacks the ball on kickoffs. He was a top 10 performer on kickoffs at our 2015 College-Prep Showcase, averaging 61 yards/3.82 hang-time. He can serve as a backup punter in a pinch. He will need to develop a proper mold and drop and establish his steps. Antonio has shown the dedication necessary to improve his skills and produce at the next level. Antonio is explosive and has the right mind to be groomed into legitamite threat for whichever school takes a chance on him.

Matt is one of the best combo prospects in his class. He is more experienced as a kicker, but he excels as a punter. His hands are great, drop is consistent and swing is pure. He does an excellent job of focusing on hang-time and not out-punting his coverage. He won the last man standing field goal competition at our EPC St. Louis (2015) event by hitting a 55 yard FG. His strikes are pure. When he is on, he is capable of hitting the same ball over and over. Although he started slow at our 2015 College-Prep Showcase, he showed some resiliency by making his last 8 field goal attempts. He was selected to a Blue-Grey All-American Bowl game roster spot. Very intriguing prospect. He will get interest as both a kicker and punter at the division 1 level.

Wade was one of 5 participants (out of 105) at the 2015 College-Prep Showcase who went perfect on their field goals (8 for 8) during the preliminary FG charting session. Wade's technique could use some work to make it more repeatable and consistent for him, but he's still capable of making a lot of kicks. We'd like to see him skip through on his field goals and land first on his planting foot. We'd also like to see his approach and follow be the same from kick to kick. He is capable of hitting 3.7+/65 yard kickoffs. Very intriguing prospect with a lot of upside. Will be an excellent fit for a mid level College football program or with a little more development he could fit in and be valuable at an even larger school.

Noah earned a Blue-Grey All-American Bowl roster spot by placing in the top 2 in our last man standing competition at the Blue-Grey Super Combine. He is a solid field goal kicker who can make kicks when the pressure is on. His kickoffs are decent, but need improvement to move into the top tier of kickers in his class. On both FGs and KOs, we'd like to see Noah stand taller through ball-strike to help with ball trajectory. Noah can offer punting in a back-up role. To hone in on his punting ability, Noah will need to speed up his approach, lower his drop and extend the ball out in front of him so he can chase it and drive through the ball.

Bryce is an excellent field goal kicker. He hits a consistent ball; straight, ample trajectory and clean ball rotation. He can perform under pressure and takes coaching well. His mechanics are solid. He's gone a perfect 8-8 in the preliminary FG round at previous showcases. To be a complete package, Bryce needs to continue to develop his kickoffs. We'd like to see him bring the same ball-strikes from field goals over to kickoffs, then add a more explosive swing as a result of a well timed approach and precise steps. Bryce will be playing College football next year and will be extremely reliable for years to come.

Jacob is a very intriguing prospect. He has possibly the biggest KO leg in his class. We have seen him consistently hit the ball with 4.0 second hang-times. On FGs, at times, he hits the ball very well. Improving on his consistency will be key for Jacob to be considered one of the top kickers in his class. His mechanics alter from kick to kick causing some impure ball strikes. We'd like to see him reduce the movement with his upper body at ball strike and stay more upright and rotate towards the target instead of side crunching towards the ball. He was 1 of 10 selected to compete at the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl Game Super Combine based on his kickoff ability. We see Jacob contributing immediately on kickoffs at a major College football program and take on the field goals after he develops and hones in on his skills for another year.

Ryan is a combo specialist and is equally skilled at both positions. His build gives him greater growth potential as a punter at the next level, however, he is a talented kicker. He went 6 for 8 at the 2015 College-Prep Showcase field goal charting session, including a 50 yarder. He was 1 of 10 selected to the 2015 Blue-Grey All-American Bowl Game Super Combine to compete for an All-American Bowl game roster spot. On kickoffs, he needs to control his mis-hits so he can consistently drive the ball further and with greater hang-times. As a punter, we'd like to see Ryan shorten his approach steps. He demonstrates great hand-eye coordination and athleticism. Ryan is a good fit for a major College football program where he can develop for another year.

Franky is a gifted combo prospect. He'll be most service-able at the next level as a punter and kickoff specialist, but has proven to be competitive at FGs as well. His performance at the 2015 National Kicking Combine earned him a selection to the Blue-Grey Super Combine. On FGs, Franky's swing is very repeatable and fluid. He maintains proper body positioning. Improvement on ball striking would help Franky improve his rating. His mechanics for punting are raw. We'd like to see him extend the ball out in front of him with one hand and hold onto the ball longer in his approach. Even with his current mechanics, Franky can smash the ball. His best ball will compete with anybody in his class. His leg strength helps him even when he doesn't hit the ball as well as he is capable. With a little bit of direction, Franky will see significant improvement. His size and intangibles are enough to take a chance on this prospect!

Jackson has developed his skills and has become one of the best punters in the Midwest. His best ball is as good as anyone we have ever seen. He's capable of putting up 4.8+ second hang times beyond 50 yards distance. He is incredibly strong and puts up big numbers in the weight room. He was in 2nd place after the preliminary punt round at the 2015 College-Prep Showcase. Jackson can fill an immediate void for punter as well as kickoff specialist at the division 1 level. On kickoffs and field goals his ball flight is inconsistent at times, but he still proves to be very serviceable in these positions. We've seen him hit over 4 second hang-times on his kickoffs. Cooper is a talented kicker capable of making a lot of kicks. He has room for improvement considering his technique could use some work. We'd like to see him limit the rotation in his hips just before ball contact. This will control the angle at which he can position his foot for ball strike as well as help him generate more power through the swinging motion at ball strike and shortly there after. He went an impressive 6 for 8 during the 2015 College-Prep Showcase field goal charting session. Cooper finished 12th out of 105 kickers during the kickoff competition and finished 6th in punts. Cooper has a lot of upside potential. He is already producing at a high level and is capable of even more with some subtle corrections.

Dalton is a talented kicker who has sound fundamentals. He gets the ball in the air well, hits straight balls and gets true end over end rotation on his field goals and kickoffs. He gets good hang-time on kickoffs but needs to continue working on his distance. He can provide assistance at the punting position. He is not as talented as a punter but shows he has the ability to develop into a College prospect as a punter as well. He's an extremely reliable kicker who could be very serviceable immediately as a short range kicker and would develop his range with another year under his belt.

Doug has excellent ball striking ability. We have watched him develop over the last three years. He is always had a strong leg and he has really grown into his kicking style and always finds a way to compete at a high level. His field goal approach looks smooth. At the next level, we'd like to see Doug approach the ball on field goals with a little more pace to help his get off times. A slightly more aggressive approach on his kickoffs will also help him produce greater distance and hang time. He gets the ball in the air well, but a little more "pop" seperates him from a good kicker and a great kicker. Intriguing prospect capable of doing big things at the next level!

He needs to change the positioning of his foot at ball contact to improve his consistency. He is currently pushing the ball with his in-step, which could bring potential issues. Nathanael is a strong-legged kicker who we've seen hit FGs from 60 yards. He gets excellent trajectory and great ball rotation. He's improved his technique significantly since we last worked with him. We'd still like to see him close off his hips a little longer before ball strike so that his hips don't unwind prematurely during the kicking phase of his leg swing. He has the physical strength to excel at kickoffs and his hang-time is great, but he needs to improve on his distance. He is a stronger kicker than punter at this time but could develop into a combo specialist. With a couple more tweaks and improvements, Nathanael is capable of playing at the collegiate level and producing at a high level.

He has excellent ball stirking skills and gets excellent trajectory on his field goals. Improve strength and flexibility will help him become more productive on kickoffs. His steps and tempo looks good, but harness a bit more explosive swing will help him increase both his hang-time and distance. He needs to improve the consistency of his hits from kick to kick, but we feel he is on the path to becoming a College ready kicker. He is a strong kickoff guy producing hits right around 3.6 hang and 60 yards distance. We'd like to see him adjust his follow-through in his swinging motion so that he follows through more directly towards his target or even slightly left of his target. He sits a bit too much at ball-strike causing him to fall off to the right. This correction should help him increase his range. On punts, his drop and mold are solid. His leg swing range of motion is a little restricted. We'd like to see him explode through the ball more aggressively. At this time, he can serve as a back-up punter. We'd like to see him work on his flexibility so he can drive through a greater range of motion in his punt follow through. On field goals and kickoffs, he'd benefit from working on his lean-off at ball strike. This should help him become a better ball striker as well as get better rotation on his kicks. He needs to work on his kickoff approach for steps and timing. His technique on KOs is solid. We need a little more aggression and explosiveness through the swing. His follow-through on field goals pulls him to the left more than preferred, but he is able to repeat this motion and has incorporated it well into his style. His ball striking skills are excellent, but he'll need to become more consistent with hitting his target. His kickoff steps and tempo looks good, but he'll need to become more explosive and increase his flexibility to become more productive at kickoffs. He has developed significantly in the last year leading us to believe he can kick at the next level at a small to mid level College football program.

Ben is aggressive on FGs and KOs. He competed at the 2015 National Kicking Combine. We'd like to see him approach his FGs without rounding out his approach steps. To improve his ball contact, he'll need to roll his foot over the top and keep his big toe from coming forward at point of strike. Ben's tall frame should help him grow as a punter. At this time, his technique needs some tuning. He'll need to straighten his approach, release the ball with one hand and get the ball out in front of him so he can use his leverage (length) to his advantage. Athletic prospect with a lot of potential.

As he continues to develop size and strength, we believe he could be consistently hitting 50 yard field goals and kickoffs. He should also continue working on fundamentals (lean-off at contact) as this will help develop more powered without sacrificing accuracy.

If he can increase his hang-times to 3.8 range and 65+ yards, he will jump in the ratings/rankings. He's a combo prospect whose skills are superior as a kicker at this time. We'd like him to avoid swinging across his body and hold onto the ball slightly longer in his drop. He has excellent tempo on his field goal approach and is very consistent while using a 1 block. He has not made the transition to the ground, yet. To transition to the ground, Jesse will need to make ball contact more towards the inside and top of his ankle while engaging his quads more than his groin. He'd benefit from increasing his depth on his plant foot on both field goals and kickoffs. We'd like for him to adjust the point on his foot he strikes the ball with. With this deeper plant foot, he'll be able to rotate his foot over and out, enabling him to strike the ball higher on his foot and more towards the top of his foot and keeping his toe from making contact with the ball.
